Ingredients
For the bowl
- 4 bananas
- juice of 2 lemons (about 4tbsp)
- 1½ tsp ground turmeric
- 1 tsp ground ginger
- a generous pinch of pepper
- 8 cashew kernels
To decorate
- 1 red-skinned apple, sliced or spiralized, if you want it to look really special a handful of pomegranate seeds
- 2-3 dates, pitted and sliced
- 1 tbsp pistachio kernels, roughly chopped
- 1 tbsp chia seeds (a mix of white and black looks good)
- a few baby mint leaves
Step by step
Get ahead
The smoothie will keep for up to 24 hours in the fridge if stored in an airtight container.
- Roughly chop the bananas and add them to a blender, along with the lemon juice, spices, cashews and 100ml cold water. Blend until all the ingredients are liquefied and have a creamy texture.
- Divide between 2 bowls and top with the apple, pomegranate seeds, dates, pistachios chia seeds and mint leaves.
