Ingredients

  • 125g softened salted butter
  • zest of 1 satsuma or ½ orange, plus 1 tbsp juice
  • zest of ½ lemon
  • ½ tsp mixed spice
  • a pinch ground cinnamon
  • 3 tbsp mixed dried fruit (or 1 tbsp sultanas, 1 tbsp raisins, 1 tbsp mixed peel)
  • 2 tsp golden syrup

Get ahead
Lasts for 1 week in the fridge, covered.
  1. Add the ingredients to a small food processor, and pulse until evenly distributed. Scrape into a bowl. Serve on toast, muffins or bagels for hot cross bun flavourings.
